About us

The Bunarong Bushwalking Club was established in 1994 and has continued to provide  broad programs offering enjoyable walking experiences for the past 22 years.

It was originally a Frankston Council initiative and named Bunarong in honour of the  Bunarong people indigenous to this region.

Over the years we have travelled all over Victoria on day walks, weekends away, pack carries as well as several social activities throughout the year. We have also traveled abroad to New Zealand, Nepal and the UK for extended walking adventures.

Being a small club it is easy to make friends and create an atmosphere of belonging. New people soon integrate with ease into the friendly welcoming ambience of the club.

Our Club Aims are

To communicate with nature and each other

To enjoy, appreciate and look after our great outdoors in friendly company

To help maintain our fitness and health in pleasurable leisure
